Snapology Robotics and Themed STEAM - Snapology Movie Favorites (STEAM)
Snapology's mission is to provide children an opportunity to engage in "playful learning" activities that will stimulate their creativity and spark an interest in learning. Our activities are designed to reinforce the core competencies and curricula being taught at each grade level. Research has shown that many of children’s best learning experiences come when they are engaged not simply in interacting with materials but in designing, creating, and inventing with them. Our activities offer students an environment where they encouraged to create and interact with materials and technology enabling them to explore solutions through hands on playful learning. Explore our fun and engaging programs designed to stimulate creativity and spark an interest in learning. We offer a wide variety of programs so your child can always find something new to explore as they grow and learn. AttackBots (Robotics): In this exciting class, students will learn important foundational coding skills while building military inspired robots, such as robotic catapults, crossbows, tanks, and much more! While working with a partner to solve the various challenges, your student will be challenged to understand how to effectively utilize a sensor, how different mechanical components can alter the power and speed of their machine, and how programming is a challenging but rewarding skill that they can master with just a little practice. They're going to have a BLAST! [Grades 3-5] Classes are once a week and meet for 8 Weeks on Tuesdays from 5:00 to 6:00 PM.Pokemania (STEAM): In Snapology’s Pokémania class, students will explore the Pokémon world and practice their Pokémon training skills! Using loose LEGO® bricks, they will create their own Poké balls, training gyms, unique battles, and even their very own generation of Pokémon. Students will also explore some real-world science as they examine the habitats, characteristics,and needs of different Pokémon. They will do more than catch ‘em all, they will build and examine them all very closely and have a blast doing so! [Grades K-5] Classes are once a week on Saturdays from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM for eight weeks. Snapology Movie Favorites (STEAM): Bring your favorite animated movies to life using LEGO® bricks in the super-fun program. Movies such as the Toy Story, How to Train Your Dragon, Star Wars, Onward, Frozen, and Trolls will be recreated using LEGO® bricks and imagination. Don’t miss out! [Grades K-5] February break class, meets Monday - Friday from 9 AM to Noon. Summer SessionsSummer Sessions are available for half day week or full day week. Our programs are structured into 3 hour programs that are offered Monday - Friday. Pair two programs together for a full day experience. All full day participants will have an hour in between programs to enjoy their lunch and time with new friends. Morning sessions will be from 8:45 am to 11:45 am and afternoon sessions will start at 12:45 pm and end at 3:45 pm. Those staying the full day will have their lunches and have a recess time at the playground (weather permitting) from 11:45 - 12:45.
SpaceWars (Robotics): In this Star Wars and space inspired class, your padawan learner will explore the basics of robotics while digging into their favorite parts of space and the Star Wars movies - the machines! While working with a partner to complete various challenges, your student will be taught how to effectively utilize sensors, how different mechanical components work in their robots, and how programming is a challenging but rewarding skill that they can master with just a little practice. May the force be with them as they build and grow! [Grades 2-5] Mining and Gaming (STEAM): Travel to the Nether with Snapology, but watch out for those creepers! Come join us as we bring Minecraft® to life using LEGO® bricks. Create your own world, including animals, creepers and your very own Minecraft® character. [Grades K-5] Superstructures (Architecture): Can you design the next Taj Mahal? Come create and build the future using LEGO® bricks in Snapology's new and exciting Architecture class! It's never too early to foster your child's engineering and building skills in this super cool program. [Grades 2-5] MegaMachines (Robotics): In Snapology's Mega Machines class, your child will create some of their favorite motorized vehicles. Students will learn about gear ratio, sensors, pulleys, cranks, and programming as they build trucks, space rovers, helicopters, and much more. Your child is sure to have fun as they build, learn, and play. [Grades 2-5]Please note: In order to ensure the affordability of Snapology programs, children do not get to keep or take home their projects; however, we capture their creative achievements through photography, allowing parents to admire and cherish their creations.
