MJP Strength and Conditioning Program - Football

Introducing our “MJP Strength and Conditioning/Football Skill Development Program coming summer 2019.  Strength & Conditioning will be coached by Mike Poidomani.  Coach Poidomani is a 1991 Graduate of Springfield College with a BS Health and Fitness and a 1993 Graduate of Western Michigan University with a degree in MS Exercise Science. Coach Poidomani has over 7 Years conducting Youth Strength and Conditioning Camps for children 10-13 years’ olds and over 7 Years as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Boston Jr Eagles (ages 8-16 year olds).
 
Program is offered weekly at $150 a week.  If you sign up for multiple weeks, after Week 1 there is a $50 discount per week.  If an athlete signs up for all three weeks they receive a free MJP shirt and the Final Workout Session Free!  We also offer a sibling discount for 20% off base prices after first athlete is signed up at regular prices.

Below are a few of the highlights that we will be offering:

 
Dynamic Warm-up: Encompasses all the flexibility and mobility exercises Also speed mechanics work and some light plyometric work for explosion training. 
 
Core Strengthening: The mid-section of the body is very important in optimizing performance.  We will be training their core every day of camp.
 
Linear Speed, Multi Directional Movement Patterns and Position Specific Work: Attendees of this program will Improve their foot speed and speed and a better athlete by emphasizing technique and instilling an “attention to detail” approach to skill improvement. 
 
Explosive Power: All athletes will be doing activities that are explosive in nature. Sled pushes/sled pulls and harness running and various reaction sprints.
 
Strength Movements/Injury Prevention: Emphasize strength (upper body/lower body/Core).  Various bodyweight and resistance training will be used to get the athletes stronger.  Weight Vest, Kettle Bells, Db’s and Bands to give resistance to those that demonstrate good form and for our younger athletes we will be using their own bodyweight as resistance.   
 
Work Capacity/Conditioning: Youth Athletic Development will be instilled to push the athlete’s energy system. 
 
Flexibility: We will stretch after each session. Athletes must stretch at home as well as after other activities they may be doing!
 
Competitive and Fun Game Play: Game play strategically placed in the itinerary. Games that will institute that will encourage movement patterns applicable to football with a tempo to the play that will make them work their conditioning. 
 
Philosophy of the Program:  With the guidance of MJP Strength and Conditioning our athletes will “LOCK-IN.” This simply means; when the Athletes reports to camp they are ready to work.  The Athletes must be hydrated, and fed and are wearing athletic footwear; sneakers/cleats tied up and ready to work. Parents are welcome to watch but no parents on the fields.  Let us coach them up!
